Students of all ages made up a large contingent of attendees, most citing their interest in science, space and engineering with many college undergraduates highlighting the jobs the company has reported the project could bring to the area.
the project which aims to construct a vertical rocket launch site at the eastern end of State Highway 4 will bring jobs while making a minimal impact on the environment.

Speaking ahead of Abete, Patrick Burchfield, who teaches biology at the University of Texas at Brownsville, said that the launch site could be the best use for the land to protect the environment, suggesting that possible future uses, such as a marina, would have more disastrous effects on the ecosystem.
Of those gathered at the International Technology, Education and Commerce Center Tuesday night, dozens shared their views on the project, which showed a general consensus of cautious optimism that Omega Watches For Men 2016
Abete expressed his concern about the impact the project would have on wildlife, noting that the very structure the hearing was held in had affected the wildlife population birds, reptiles and more in the area when it was built decades ago.
SpaceX has said in reports that its launch site would create 1,000 jobs indirectly or directly, all paying in excess of $55,000.
Larry and Susan Holtzman also attended the hearing, saying they felt they needed to be there to let the FAA and SpaceX know there was support for Omega Watches With Diamonds
Chuy Abete, a longtime Brownsville resident, was the first to speak against the project at the hearing after nearly two dozen spoke in favor of it.
He said he feels it could be a boost for downtown, an area the city is trying to revitalize, because it would bring young, educated workers to the area.
The hearing, where FAA officials are hoping to gain more public input for their final report, attracted Alissa Flores, 15, who attends Veterans Memorial High School and hopes to study engineering.
But not everyone at the hearing was sold on the project.
"This thing will do Omega Watches James Bond Skyfall the same thing over there," he said of the SpaceX project. "It's only common sense."
The preliminary FAA study, which was released April 15, shows that while the construction of a launch site would affect wildlife along the shore, those effects could be minimized through certain actions if the federal agency were to grant SpaceX a permit to construct a launch site.
"I think it would be kind of awesome," Flores said.
"You don't see them anymore," he said.
A representative from the Sierra Club's Lone Star Chapter also shared support for the project, but Abete said that made it clear to him that they were depending too much on statistics found online and hadn't been paying attention to the true results of development in the Rio Grande Valley.
Community discusses rockets' local impact
Her mother said that while the closing of Boca Chica Beach could potentially be a burden, she felt giving her children the opportunity to see rocket launches, which would occur monthly, could potentially balance it out.
said, noting that SpaceX representatives had spoken at her school, but that the breadth of the project seems almost impossible.
Her mother, Lisa Guitron, and brother, Michael Guitron, 11, came along, but Guitron said her family attended mostly due to her daughter's interest.
the project, which Larry said could affect Brownsville as a whole, not just Boca Chica.
"We're very excited about it," Susan said, pointing out that the area has a lot to offer the company, too, including the port and multiple airports nearby.
Still, if Brownsville could actually bring rocket launches to her hometown, she would be impressed.
The 78 year old cited fishing trips during his childhood when wildlife was abundant at Boca Chica, saying that fishing and other development had reduced those populations as well.
